Music Class at Kaley Lake Como Elementary        ðŸŽ¼ ♫♪♫

Welcome to music at Kaley Lake Como!  All students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth grade will have music once a week this year.  What will your child do in music class?  Each grade has their own set of national and state standards for music, which includes learning about different musical styles, how music relates to different cultures, how music is used in our own culture, reading and writing music notation, singing, playing instruments, moving, creating, collaborating, learning about different composers and a bit of music history, and much, much more!

3rd, 4th and 5th grade are starting to prepare to go on their annual symphony field trip.  It is part of United Arts Young Person’s Performance Concert series, and is a free field trip for all Orange County Public Schools sponsored by our district and United Arts.  Please be on the lookout for a permission slip letter explaining in greater detail and when our school will be attending.

2nd graders are also preparing to go on a free field trip sponsored by the United Arts foundation and Orange County as well.  As part of 2nd grade’s music state standards, we are learning about the art of ballet.  This year’s free field trip will take us to the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center for a professional ballet performance designed just for school age students.  Please be on the lookout for a permission slip letter explaining in greater detail and when our school will be attending.

If you have any questions at any time about music, don’t hesitate to contact me:  [email protected]  or 407-897-6420 x3452295.  I look forward to a wonderful musical year together with our Kaley Lake Como Warriors! – Mrs. Lombardi, Music Teacher
